The SEEDS Health & Hygiene curriculum teaches clients proper nutrition and grooming habits. Clients will learn the skills necessary to have good hygiene and maintain a healthy weight. The instructor's guide and workbook covers topics on everyday grooming habits. Example topics include brushing teeth and showering, practicing portion control when eating, and exercising regularly.

sexuality

The SEEDS sexuality education curriculum is divided into two parts: Each section is accompanied with an instructor’s guide, 13 PowerPoint lessons, client workbook and an assessment to give the teacher evidence based learning. Part one, has 5 lessons and is geared for all clients and covers the basic concepts of public/private, helping/sexual touch, and couples’ definitions. Part two, has 8 lessons and builds on the student’s understanding of part one and further covers topics on puberty, sexuality laws, pregnancy, diseases, etc. With additional materials that the teacher/staff can use to assist with student learning.

abuse awareness and prevention

The SEEDS abuse awareness and prevention curriculum has an instructor’s guide, student workbook, and 15 PowerPoint Lessons. The curricula concentrates on understanding personal boundaries and sexual abuse. The course begins with understanding boundaries and wanted/unwanted touches. It continues to define private parts and sexual touching and discusses the rules and laws regarding sexuality and abuse. Lessons cover the different factors of sexual abuse/harassment along with how to talk with trusted support people.

Private Places/Private Behavior curriculum addresses the importance of teaching when and where to engage in self-touching. This program is geared towards people with autism and intellectual disabilities, emphasizing public and private awareness, safety and responsibility. Included is the lesson book, DVD movie, graphics and pictures.
