In addition to individual certifications & degrees in a variety of related disciplines, all STC staff complete ongoing continuing education & training in accordance with the state of California's requirements for Sex Educators. 

Amy J. Machado, M.A., BCBA (she/her)

Amy Machado is the owner of SEEDS Therapy Center and has worked with individuals with Developmental and Intellectual Disabilities for over 20 years. Amy earned a master’s degree in Teaching and is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). She has extensive experience working with individuals with disabilities of all ages and has spent her career creating innovative programs to assist young adults with the transition into adulthood and beyond. 

Amy's drive to reduce sexual exploitation stems from her direct work with countless individuals and families who have shared their personal stories of exposure, assault and sexual abuse. Throughout her career as a Behavior Analyst, she has worked with many individuals and families seeking information about relationships and how to connect with others. From their experiences and their desire for social autonomy, she is dedicated to making STC an inclusive place for people with disabilities to learn invaluable information about connecting with others appropriately and safely. 

In addition to handling STC operations, Mrs. Machado conducts trainings and workshops throughout San Diego county for parents and professionals on  social-sexual topics including risk reduction for abuse.

Rachel Schlesinger, M.S., CRC (she/her)
~Educational Consultant 

Rachel Schlesinger is an Educational Consultant  for SEEDS Therapy Center. She earned her master's degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at San Diego State University. She teaches university-level courses on the topic of Disability and Society. Rachel aims to bring her passion for disability awareness and advocacy to the clients, family, and staff of SEEDS Therapy Center.

Gianna Cursi, B.S., BCaBA (she/her)

~Educational Consultant

Gianna is an Educational consultant and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) for SEEDS Therapy Center. She attended the University of California, San Diego where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology. Gianna has worked with children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders, providing ABA therapy since 2015. She looks forward to expanding her experience as she supports, learns from, and grows with the clients and families at STC.

Diana Mason, M.Ed, BCBA (she/her)

~Educational Consultant

Diana is an Educational Consultant and Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) for SEEDS Therapy Center. She earned a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis at University of Cincinnati.  She has experience providing ABA therapy in schools, social skills groups, in home, and the community settings, serving a wide array of clients with disabilities from early intervention to adulthood since 2008. She is devoted to helping individuals improve their quality of life by providing critical comprehensive sex education and knowledge of relationships.

Rebecca Avila, B.S., RBT (she/her)
~Educational Consultant

Rebecca is an Educational Consultant for SEEDS Therapy Center. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree and licensure in Marriage and Family Counseling from Northcentral University. Rebecca has worked in the ABA field since 2017 and has experience working with toddlers, school aged children, teens, and adults. She is passionate about teaching fact-based comprehensive sex education to all populations, especially those within the developmental disability community. Rebecca is looking forward to learning and growing with the STC team.

Charles Aguilar, M.Ed (he/him/his) ~Educational Consultant

Charlie is an Educational Consultant and a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) candidate. He earned a master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) from Arizona State University. He has been practicing ABA since 2014, providing behavioral and social coaching services to clients with disabilities in various settings such as schools, in-home, and in the community. Charlie is ambitious to help clients not only understand best practices in sex education, but also teach practical methods to help build meaningful relationships and individual independence.
