Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (I/DD) are 7 times as likely to be sexually abused than their neurotypical counterparts
Lack of knowledge regarding sexuality, dependence on others, trained compliance, and social isolation contribute to the increased risk of sexual abuse
By providing students with the knowledge and tools needed to build a healthy self-concept and connect with others safely and appropriately, we can reduce that risk
STC offers a variety of services to assist individuals and their caregivers

Our specially trained staff use a variety of materials to assess social-sexual topics often missed in educational settings. We can assess a student's understanding of relationships, social boundaries, and sex education, including topics like coercion, personal space, consent, and assertiveness.
Assessments can be conducted virtually or in person and include a caregiver interview and direct assessment with the individual.
